Areas of practice
Victoria Engel SC is an experienced Barrister with expertise in appellate and jury trial work.
Prior to joining Murray Chambers, Victoria was the Deputy Director for the NT Director of Public Prosecutions where, in addition to running high-profile and complex trials, she was heavily involved in policy advice, and the provision of high-level expert opinion to external stakeholders such as NT Police, ICAC and other agencies.
Before moving to the NT, Victoria was a Crown Prosecutor in NSW, and worked in the UK in tax fraud litigation.
Victoria accepts briefs in a diverse range of matters at all stages, including:
- Criminal law, including trials and appeals
- Coronial inquests and inquiries
- ICAC examinations
- Royal Commissions
- Administrative law
- Appeals and Review processes
